  2. This is an important substance in ophthalmology.
  3. Apply topically for genital eczema.
  4. Both Lu Gan Shi and Borax Peng Sha nourish, prevent putrefication and resolve toxicity and both treat the eyes. Peng Sha is primarily used to clear Heat and dissolve Phlegm to prevent putrefication. It focuses on the mucous membranes. Lu Gan Shi dries Dampness and generates flesh and is best for long-term drainage off pus from open sores or wounds that do not heal.
  5. Calcined Calamina Duan Lu Gan Shi is used in ophthalmology without causing irritation from large particles.
  6. Coptis-prepared Calamine Huang Lian Lu Gan Shi is better able to clear Heat, brighten the eyes and restrain and inhibit damp sores. It is used for redness, swelling, and pain of the eyes, conjunctivitis, or superficial visual obstruction, non-healing ulcers, damp sores and itching of the skin.
