NOTES

  1. This herb treats Liver and Lung cancers when taken internally and skin cancer when applied topically.
  2. The root and leaf are used specifically to treat cancer.
  3. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells.
  4. It is indicated for venereal diseases and malignant sores.
  5. This herb is said to treat boils, abscesses, acute mastitis, lymphangitis, acute lymphadenitis, mumps, cellulitis, parotitis, pneumonia, pertussis, bronchial asthma, insect stings, snakebites, fungal scalp infections, intestinal parasites, traumatic injury with swelling and contusion and edema.
  6. This herb relieves swelling and hard masses. It removes Phlegm through diuresis.
  7. Symptoms of overdose are: vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, swelling of the throat, difficult respiration and unconsciousness.
  8. To treat overdose, make a decoction of milk or egg whites with 30g Rx. Platycodi Jie Geng.
  9. Another decoction to treat overdose is: 30g Rz. Acori Tatarinowii Shi Chang Pu, 15g Sm. Glycine Max Hei Dou, 120g Rz. Phragmitis Lu Gen, 30g Rz. Imperatae Bai Mao Gen and 15g Flos Lonicerae Jin Yin Hua.
  10. A third decoction is 3g Cx. Cinnamomi Rou Gui, 6g Rx. Glycyrrhizae Gan Cao and 6g Rx. Saposhnikoviae Fang Feng.
