  • At the lateral margin of the rectus femoris muscle and the vastus lateralis muscle, directly on the lateral cutaneous nerve of the thigh; in its deep position supplied bu branches of the lateral circumflex femoral artery and vein and a branch of the femoral nerve.
  • Straight insertion, 1 to 3 cun., causing distention and soreness possibly extending to the knee.
  • Sequelae of infantile paralysis
  • Hemiplegia
