ENDOCRINE DYSCRASIAS, ANOVULATION, LUTEAL PHASE DEFECT

Clinical Manifestations
  • Endocrine Dyscrasia is an abnormal or unbalanced state of the endocrine system. The endocrine system is made up of a network of glands. These glands secrete hormones to regulate many bodily functions, including growth, metabolism kidney function; blood pressure; cardiovascular function; the body’s response to stress; the immune system; and sexual development and function. Endocrine diseases are common and usually occur when glands produce an incorrect amount of hormones.

Clinical Manifestations
  • The luteal phase is one stage of menstruation. It occurs after ovulation (when the ovaries release an egg) and before the period starts. During this time, the lining of the uterus normally gets thicker to prepare for a possible pregnancy.

If there is a luteal phase defect, that lining doesn't grow properly each month. This can make it difficult to become or remain pregnant.
