Rx. Angelica Sinensis Dang Gui 4-9g Nourishes, invigorates and harmonizes the Blood, disperses Cold, stops pain due to Blood Stasis, moistens the Intestines and unblocks the bowels.
With Bai Shao, regulates and harmonizes Qi and Blood and treats Blood Deficiency Heat.
With Gan Cao, moderates spasms and relieves abdominal pain.
With Yi Tang, Gui Zhi, Sheng Jiang and Bai Shao, for epigastric and abdominal pain.
Maltose Yi Tang 18-30g Strengthens the Spleen, tonifies Qi, tonifies the Middle Jiao and alleviates pain and coldness.
With Dang Gui, for abdominal pain due to Blood Deficiency.
With Gui Zhi, warms and tonifies the Middle Jiao.
With Gui Zhi, Gan Cao and Bai Shao, for abdominal pain due to Cold from Middle Jiao Deficiency which is better with pressure and somewhat alleviated by eating
With Gui Zhi, Gan Cao, Bai Shao and Dang Gui, for abdominal pain due to Cold from Middle Jiao Deficiency with concurrent Blood Deficiency.
Ram. Cinnamomi Gui Zhi 4-9g Warms the Middle Jiao, disperses Cold, releases the muscle layer, assists the Heart Yang, warms and facilitates the flow of Yang Qi in the chest, assists the Yang, adjusts the Ying and Wei and warms and facilitates the flow of Qi through the channels and collaterals and Blood through the vessels.
With Bai Shao, warms and tonifies the Middle Jiao and harmonizes the Ying and the Wei.
With Yi Tang, warms and tonifies the Middle Jiao.
(Cx. Rasus Cinnamomi) (Rou Gui Xin) (4-9g) (Assists the Heart Yang and assists communication between the Heart and Kidneys - may substitute for Gui Zhi.)
Rx. Paeoniae Alba Bai Shao 5-9g Nourishes Blood, astringes Yin, adjusts the Ying and Wei, softens the Liver and relieves pain .
With Gan Cao, regulates the relationship between the Liver and Spleen, nourishes sinews and treats epigastric, hypochondriac or flank pain and abdominal pain due to Disharmony between the Liver and Stomach.
With Gui Zhi, harmonizes the Ying and the Wei.
With Gui Zhi, Sheng Jiang and Da Zao, for Wind-Cold with Deficiency and perspiration.
With Gui Zhi, Yi Tang, Da Zao, Gan Cao and Sheng Jiang, for severe epigastric or abdominal pain or cramps caused by the Liver overacting on the deficient, Cold Middle Jiao.
(Rx. Paeoniae Alba Preparata) (Chao Bai Shao) (18g) (Nourishes Blood, harmonizes the collaterals,  moderates the Spleen, relaxes the Liver and alleviates pain - may substitute for Bai Shao.)
Rx. Glycyrrhizae Gan Cao 2-6g Tonifies the Spleen, augments Qi, moderates spasms, alleviates pain and moderates and harmonizes the harsh properties of other herbs.
With Bai Shao, moderates spasms and alleviates pain, for painful spasms of the leg or abdomen.
Rz. Zingiberis Recens Sheng Jiang 3-9g Warms the Middle, stops vomiting, adjusts the Ying and Wei and normalizes the flow of Qi at the center.
With Da Zao, protects the Stomach Qi and reduces irritation of the gastrointestinal. tract by other herbs and adjusts the Ying and Wei.
With Gui Zhi and Da Zao, harmonizes the Ying and Wei to drive out pathogens.
Fr. Jujube Da Zao 3-5g Tonifies the Spleen and Stomach, augments Qi, nourishes the Blood, calms the Spirit and moderates and harmonizes the harsh properties of other herbs.

CONTRAINDICATIONS
  • Contraindicated for those with Heat from Yin Deficiency.
  • Eliminate the sweet flavor for those with vomiting from roundworms.
  • Modify for abdominal distention.
