CONTRAINDICATIONS
  • Use caution with headaches or eye problems due to Yin or Blood Deficiency.
  • Use caution for those with Spleen and Stomach Qi Deficiencies.
  • Use with caution for those with dizziness or headache due to Blood deficiency.

Eye disorders due to Wind-Cold.

 

 

  1. If it is given to Qi Deficient patient, it creates paranoia and agoraphobia (bladder energy imbalanced).
  2. It has a similar effect as aspirin.
  3. Usually used for upper body pains.
  4. It is particularly for Wind-Heat in the face and eyes but also useful for stiff painful joints from Wind-Damp Bi.
  5. This herb can also be used for swollen,painful gums and teeth.
  6. It is said to treat some parasites.
  7. Besides treating Wind-Damp Bi, it also treats cold bulging disorders and leg Qi.
  8. Many consider it the best herb for tinnitis and deafness.
  9. Man Jing Zi and Rz. Gastrodiae Tian Ma both treat headaches. Man Jing Zi treats headaches due to Wind-Heat, while Tian Ma treats headaches due to Internal Liver Wind.
  10. Unprepared Vitex Fruit Sheng Man Jing Zi has a stronger dispersing action and is indicated for expelling Wind-Heat, dispersing Wind and stopping pain.
  11. Dry-fried Vitex Fruit Chao Man Jing Zi is less acrid and dispersing but is better at clearing the head and eyes. It is used to treat headaches around the eyes, watery eyes or blurred vision. This is the form that is generally used.
